Cynthia N. Sass, Esquire, is the sole shareholder of the Law Offices of Cynthia N. Sass, P.A., a six-attorney firm based in Tampa, with a satellite office in Bradenton. Ms. Sass obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond in 1987 and graduated from Smith College. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987. She is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Since 1990, Ms. Sass has limited her practice to labor and employment matters.
Martindale-Hubbell rates Ms. Sass as an "AV" attorney, which is their highest ranking, and also lists her on its Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers. In November of 2011 she was inducted as a Fellow of The College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. The Best Lawyers in America named Ms. Sass as one of the best attorneys in the country in 2006 through 2011. Florida Trend magazine selected Ms. Sass as one of their Legal Elite in the area of labor and employment law for the past seven years. She also has been named to Florida Super Lawyers in 2006 through 2011, and made their Top 50 Women in Florida list for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2009 she was included in Marquis Who's Who in American Law. The July/August 2008 edition of Tampa Bay Magazine identified Ms. Sass as one of The Best Attorneys in the Tampa Bay Area as compiled by Woodward & White.
Ms. Sass is currently a member of the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions, and both the American Bar Association Labor & Employment Law's Leadership Development Program and Employment Rights and Responsibilities Section. She is also Employee Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Technology in the Practice and Workplace Committee and Employment-at-Will Subcommittee, as well as a Board Member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Trial Lawyer Section . She is the past Chair of the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section (2006-2007) and served as its Legal Education Chair in 2004-2005, and the CLE Chair for 2003-2004. Ms. Sass was President of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association in 1999-2000, which is the state chapter of a national organization of lawyers who represent individual employees in cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination, employee benefits and other employment-related matters. Ms. Sass also served as co-Chair of the Individual Rights Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Florida Bar and was appointed an Executive Council Member in 1998. Additionally, Ms. Sass is a Certified Circuit Court Mediator for the state of Florida.
Kendra D. Presswood, Esquire, serves as the managing attorney of the firm's satellite office in Bradenton. She graduated in the Top 10% of her class from Stetson University College of Law in December 1991 where she was a member of the Stetson Law Review. She graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University in 1989. Ms. Presswood has extensive litigation and appellate experience and is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law. She is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and The Florida Bar. Ms. Presswood has over 14 years experience in labor and employment law, is an active member of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and was chosen as one of Florida's Super Lawyers for 2010 and 2011.
Janet E. Wise, Esquire, obtained her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 1992 and graduated cum laude from Newberry College. Ms. Wise was recently noted as a rising attorney by Florida Super Lawyers Star Search. She is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law and has been practicing in this area of law since 1992. Ms. Wise is past President of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (2007-2008), as well as co-chair of NELA's Ethics and Sanctions Committee. Ms. Wise is admitted to The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia, as well the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Jennifer D. Zumarraga, Esquire, graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University College of Law in 2000, and cum laude from the University of Florida in 1996. Ms. Zumarraga is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section and the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. Ms. Zumarraga has practiced in the area of employment law since 2001.
Yvette D. Everhart, Esquire, graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2006, and cum laude from Stetson University in 2003. Ms. Everhart is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section, and their Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Everhart is also the 2011-12 President-Elect of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and served as Vice President of Programming in 2010-11. In 2006 she was the recipient of both the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Dean W. Gary Vause Award and the Judge Alexander Paskay Bankruptcy Award.
Joshua R. Kersey, Esquire, graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2010, and cum laude from Florida State in 2007. Mr. Kersey is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar's Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Kersey interned with the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court Counsel and won the William F. Blews Award for pro bono legal service.

John C. Davis, Esquire, is Of Counsel to the Law Offices of Cynthia N. Sass, P.A.. Mr. Davis graduated with honors from the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 1988, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He obtained his B.A. in English Literature from Florida State University, and his Masters degree from the University of Georgia, Phi Kappa Phi. Mr. Davis is admitted to both The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia, and practices in the Supreme Court of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern, Middle and Southern District Courts of Florida, and the Northern and Middle District Courts of Georgia. He is a member of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and his practice focuses on employment law. Mr. Davis has been practicing law for more than 22 years.
Jill S. Schwartz, Esquire, is the managing partner of Jill S. Schwartz & Associates, P.A., and is Of Counsel to the Law Offices of Cynthia N. Sass, P.A. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law and is a Certified Mediator. Ms. Schwartz is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Florida and Maryland and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. She is a member of the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section and the National Employment Lawyers Association.
David H. Spalter, Esquire, is an attorney with Jill S. Schwartz & Associates, P.A. and is Of Counsel to the Law Offices of Cynthia N. Sass, P.A. He graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. Mr. Spalter is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the District Courts for the Southern & Middle Districts of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Section and the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
