The minimum wage for non-exempt employees in Florida will increase to $8.05 per hour starting January 1, 2015. This is an increase of $.12 from the current rate of $7.93. The federal minimum wage rate has not changed from $7.25; however, since Florida’s minimum wage rate is higher than the federal minimum wage rate, Florida’s non-exempt employees are required to be paid at the higher wage rate.
