Yvette D. Everhart Moderates CLE Panel at “The Voice of the Mediation Client” Film Premiere

On September 10, 2025, Sass Law Firm attorney Yvette D. Everhart, then Chair of The Florida Bar Labor & Employment Law Section, moderated a two-hour CLE program presented alongside the premiere of The Voice of the Mediation Client. The live Zoom event brought candid insights directly from clients about what truly works—and what doesn’t—during mediation, followed by interactive breakout discussions and expert commentary.

We are proud to announce that Adria Lynn Silva, shareholder of Sass Law Firm, has been elected as a Fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers (CLEL) Class of 2025 (an honor bestowed by the College’s Board of Governors).
 
This prestigious recognition reflects Adria’s outstanding contributions and leadership in the field of labor and employment law, marking a significant milestone in her career. As a CLEL Fellow, Adria joins a distinguished community of attorneys recognized for promoting excellence, professionalism, and civility in labor and employment practice.
 
All Fellows of the College have a minimum of 20 years of experience in the field, and Adria’s 25+ years of advocacy for employees’ rights exemplifies the dedication and skill that the College honors. She will be formally inducted at the College’s annual induction ceremony this November 2025.
 
We join the CLEL Board of Governors in welcoming Adria to the Class of 2025 Fellows, and invite you to congratulate her on this well-deserved achievement!

JO ANN PALCHAK

Jo Ann Palchak is the new Practice Leader of our White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group.

Ms. Palchak is a seasoned state and federal litigator whose White Collar Defense practice includes matters involving breaches of fiduciary duty, financial fraud, Anti-Kickback Statute violations, RICO, Stark Law, the False Claims Act, embezzlement, misappropriation, and securities violations. In addition, Jo Ann is frequently retained as an outside general counsel to perform internal investigations in the health care, publishing, pharmaceutical, financial and other industries. She has represented both institutional and individual clients before a range of state and federal agencies. Jo Ann often represents employees accused of wrongdoing in the workplace as well as those bringing actions as a whistleblower. Her state and federal criminal defense law practice is built on years of zealous advocacy in state and federal court. The addition of not only a white collar but also a criminal defense practice to Sass Law widens the firm’s capacity and expands its practice areas.
 
Jo Ann brings a wealth of experience representing individuals and organizations in both civil and criminal investigations, prosecutions, and complex litigation. She is a thoughtful and determined attorney and a confident courtroom advocate.
Ms. Palchak has been recognized by the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Stetson University College of Law, SuperLawyers (White Collar Criminal Defense 2016-2025, Rising Stars: 2009 – 2010, 2013 – 2015), the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and other organizations for her advocacy and professionalism. She has also served the legal profession over many years through her involvement with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as a Board Director, Vice Chair of the Amicus Curiae Committee, and Chair of the Audit Committee and is a Past President and current member of the Goldburg-Cacciatore Criminal Law Inn of Court here in Tampa. In terms of her community work, Ms. Palchak sits on the Eagle Scout Board in Tampa for the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, Fort Brooke District.

Mason B. Binkley joins Sass Law Firm as a Litigation Practice MemberMason brings over a decade of legal experience to the firm. A member of the Florida Bar since 2011, he has practiced exclusively in the Tampa Bay area and is known for his thoughtful counsel, tireless advocacy, and strategic approach to resolving complex legal issues.
He began his legal career primarily representing employers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, and unpaid wages. Now, Mason brings that valuable experience to the employee side, offering a unique and informed perspective to clients navigating workplace disputes.
His diverse litigation background also includes work with corporations, universities, hospitals, small businesses, and individuals, spanning a wide range of legal matters.

Yvette Everhart to Present CLE for the Florida Department of HealthAttorney Yvette D. Everhart spoke to the Florida Department of Health attorneys in May 2025. Yvette presented on “Muldrow v. City of St. Louis: A Huge Win for Employees in Employment Discrimination Claims.”

The presentation explored the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding discrimination cases and the new adverse action standard and the future of discrimination cases.
