August 27, 2016 – Cynthia Sass spoke at the “Celebration: A Century of Service” sponsored by Florida Realtors®.  She was part of the Risk Management Committee’s Up, Up, and Away with Websites and Drones presentation and addressed the emerging issue of making your website accessible and ramifications of inaccessibility under the American’s with Disabilities Act. Her co-speaker, Florida Realtor® General Counsel Margy Grant, shared the latest on the use of drones in your business. Ms. Sass is honored to speak at a conference where Jay Leno is a guest speaker.

ABA LEL Conference Chicago
November 11, 2016 – Cynthia Sass spoke at the 10th Annual Conference of the Labor & Employment Section of the American Bar Association in Chicago.  She discussed Getting and Returning to Work: Fitness for Duty Exams and Related Legal Issues from a plaintiff employee’s perspective. The panel addressed the fine line between ensuring a safe and productive workplace while maintaining the legal, medical and privacy rights of employees and job applicants, as well as explored the legal boundaries of fitness-for-duty exams and how they can be implemented to ensure workplace safety while safeguarding employee rights.

Saint Leo UniversityJuly 11, 2016 – Yvette Everhart’s presentation to Dr. Charmaine Rose’s Saint Leo University students at Tech Data Corporation in Clearwater was extremely successful. Her discussion of best practices in human resources and tips for avoiding liability from employment law claims, resulted in an engaging question-and-answer session with the attendees.

April 26, 2016 – Yvette Everhart presented at the live webinar entitled Litigation Holds in Employment Lawsuits: Creating an Early and Effective Plan for Collecting and Preserving ESI, sponsored by Strafford Publications, Inc.  The webinar was directed at labor and employment attorneys and the panel discussed recurring discovery and common records subject to preservation in employment actions and offered solutions for creating a litigation readiness and document preservation plan to avoid potentially costly spoliation allegations and sanctions under the new Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 37(e).
