Yvette Everhart will be moderating, as well as participating in, the panel discussion Who is Entitled to Protection from Retaliation? (Fundamentals), at the 13th Annual Section Conference of the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association this November.
Yvette Everhart will moderate a segment on practicing before the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity—Reemployment Assistance, the agency responsible for administering unemployment benefits at the upcoming Practice Before State Labor & Employment Agencies seminar scheduled for March 2020 in Tallahassee. The seminar is sponsored by the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Florida Bar. Yvette is among several distinguished speakers at this event.
Cynthia Sass will again serve as the Regional Editor for the Southeast states of Florida, Georgia North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia when the American Bar Association and Bloomberg BNA publishes is 2019 Supplement to Employment at Will, A State-by-State Survey, Second Edition.
ABA TIPS Book
Cynthia Sass wrote a chapter about Discovery and Deposing the Alleged Harasser and Defense Witnesses: Plaintiff’s Perspective for a new TIPS book, Sexual Harassment and Retaliation: A Practical Guide for Plaintiff and Defense, released in April 2019 by the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. With sexual harassment and retaliation claims on the rise, the book offers critical background and best practices for attorneys representing both Plaintiff Employees and Defendant Employers to successfully litigate these difficult claims.
Cynthia Sass is the Employee Co-Chair of the 13th Annual Section Conference Planning Committee for the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association, and will serve as Emeritus Employee Co-Chair for the 14th Annual Section Conference Planning Committee in 2020. Ms. Sass is also serving as a member of the 2020 Annual 11th Circuit Regional Program Planning Committee of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. At the state level, Cynthia remains Co-Chair of the ABA Liaison Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Florida Bar. Locally, Cynthia Sass is a member of the Lawyers for the Arts Committee of the Tampa Museum of Art.
Yvette Everhart remains a member of the Executive Council and is Co-Chair of the Website Subcommittee of the Communications Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of The Florida Bar. Ms. Everhart is also a member of its Law School Liaison Committee.
Janet Wise will serve as Vice Chair of the Labor & Employment Law Certification Committee, a Standing Committee of The Florida Bar for the 2019-2020 term. She also continues to serve on the Advisory Council of the Ethics and Sanctions Committee of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
Amanda Biondolino will serve as Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association for the 2019-2020 term.
